Equisafe is made from High Density Polyethylene, which has a material impact rating many times higher than PVC.   This has been tested by driving a tractor over the fence, and backing up just to watch it regain its original shape!  This extraordinary material will literally absorb the shock from a direct kick, which is difficult to land with no flat surfaces and smooth finish.

Being environmentally friendly is a primary concern at Equi-Safe.  There are many environmental problems with vinyl throughout its life cycle, from its initial production, to disposal.  Additionally, vinyl is difficult to recycle.  HDPE, on the other hand, is an environmentally safe product from start to finish.  It contains no contaminates of ground water or soil. It is essentially composed of carbon and hydrogen, making it completely non-toxic to manufacture.  If burned, the by-products are similar to candle wax, and are completely non-toxic.  The material is 100% recyclable after serving its original purpose, making it one of the most environmentally friendly products available today.

When choosing an equine fence, the safety of your horse is a primary concern.  Equi-Safe posts and rails are round in shape, minimizing the chance of injury.  The fence will yield upon extreme impact, causing no injury to the horse and no damage to the fence.  The 3" rail diameter 5.5" post diameter provide excellent visibility for the horse.  A stainless steel wire conductor is spirally embedded into the surface of the rails eliminating tangles,  abrasions or scratches, unlike other add-on electrical systems.  Due to the symmetrical design, there is no tension on the wire unlike single strand systems that must use heavier, stronger, and more dangerous wire.  Since all the electrical connections are made within the post, there are no exposed electrical connections, insulators, or loose wires to get tangled in which provides another level of safety.  These connections are made every 16.5 feet, or every 3rd post (not every post), allowing for easier installation.  The electric current will give a quick snap on contact, and the horse quickly learns that the fence sets the boundary.  No more cribbing, chewing or leaning.  The combined features create a safe boundary training system for the horse.

Even at temperatures well below freezing, Equi-Safe fencing will not shatter, crack, or splinter.  A popular test is putting our sample in the freezer for and hour, and then taking it out and hitting it with a hammer, with no effect!  The material contains properties similar to an ice cube tray therefore ice will not stick to the surface.  The post resist heaving due to the self lubricating, nonporous nature of the material.  Because the post is hollow, there is no bottom surface for frost heaves to push against, as a result ground movement has little effect on the posts.  The fence is also completely UV stable and fade resistant to the harsh effects of direct sunlight.

Two-for-one has always been a great deal, and with the electric wire already embedded into the rails, this product is essentially two products in one.  The expense of installing and electrical system in addition to your fencing is eliminated.   Once installed, you can easily attach a solar controller or standard electric to electrify the fence.  As anyone with a wood fencing system knows, maintenance is an endless process as well as an ongoing expense.  The maintenance-free aspect of this product eliminates the cost of painting, staining, repairing, and replacing, which continue to add up over time.
